What a resume is actually for
It is not your biography. It is a document that has to survive two readers in this order:
Reader one is software. Roughly 83% of companies use AI or automated screening before a human sees anything. It parses your file into fields. If it cannot parse you, you are gone before anyone judged you.
Reader two is a human in a hurry. They scan. They are looking for four things: do you sell what we sell, to who we sell to, at our deal size, and did you hit your number. If they cannot find those four things fast, they move on.
Design for both. That is the entire brief.
